Venue or organization:
Aiken Choral Society presents 5th Annual Madrigal Dinner sponsored by The Reserve Club in Woodside Plantation. Doors at The Reserve Club open at 6:30 p.m. with dinner at 7:00 p.m. in the ballroom. The chorus will be in full renaissance “garb” singing music from the 16th century and earlier. The yuletide madrigal feast is multifaceted. Andrew Siders will be a court jester and Carl Purdy instrumentalists will also be performing. As people dine on their food and drinks, entertainment will circulate around them. Guests will be invited to participate in a Christmas sing-along. Artistic Director Dr. Maureen Simpson’s sense of humor guarantees a few chuckles and surprises. One example of the songs is “Pastyme with good company” –King Henry VIII will be present.
