How to submit events to

The Augusta Chronicle welcomes news of events in Richmond, Columbia and McDuffie counties in Georgia and Aiken and Edgefield counties in South Carolina. To ensure the quickest inclusion in our online events database, please enter your events directly.

Please search for your event at before posting. If your event is already in the database, please do not post it again.

Under “Post your event” in the right rail, click on the “please log in to your Augusta Chronicle account.” If you have not created an account on the Chronicle site since we launched our new site in November 2016, you will need to do so by clicking on "Click here" next to "Don't have an account yet?"

After you’ve logged in with your free account, go back to

On the right side of the page, click “Add your Event” and fill in the form, then click Save at the bottom of the form to submit the event.  If you don’t see the “Add your Event” link on the right side of the events calendar page after you log on, go to and the link should be on the right side of the page.

Enter the event name, location, street, city, state, ZIP code, etc. (map coordinates will fill in based on the ZIP code). 

Enter the date and time. For events with an end time, click the box that says “Show end date” and enter the same date in the first box and the end time of the event in the second box (ex: an event 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, would have 12/23/2017 02:00pm in the top set of boxes, click the second set and enter 12/23/2017 in the date box and 04:00pm in the time box). 

• For recurring events, click "Repeat" to open more fields that will allow you to select "daily, weekly, monthly or yearly." For example, if the event is recurring daily, the recurrence should be set to repeats every 1 day. Then key in the date the repeating should end. You can also click on "Exclude dates" or "Include dates" to remove or add a specific date that does not fall into the range of the recurring event.

• If the event is happening over multiple days and the start/end times are different on a given day, a separate event will need to be created to allow for the change in time. So, if the festival is from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m.-6 p.m. on Sunday, you will need to create two calendar entries. Be sure to include all of the times/days for the festival in the description field for all days of the event to be sure people know it will be happening more than one day.

Under Type of event, click all boxes that apply. This will help your event show up in multiple online searches.

Enter cost, including the $ sign and amount without .00 – example: $2, $5, $25 – unless the cost requires dollars and cents – example $5.50.

Choose age suitability from the pull-down menu. If the age is not available, leave this as None.

The Venue or organization field is very specific to our Venue database, therefore, if you try to add the venue and get an error that the “Venue cannot be found” please leave this field blank.

Website address can go to a ticketing site or to a website or be left blank.

Enter a simple description of the event.

Upload an optional photo/logo/flyer. Files must be less than 2 MB in size and can be any of the following file types: png, gif, jpg, jpeg.

The event will be added to a queue to be edited and approved for publication. Items do not post directly to the calendar. The listing will say “Location unavailable” until the item has been approved for publication. The queue is checked every hour or so 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Items for the print calendars, which run when space is available, are pulled from the online events database. Items need to be received by noon Thursday before the following Wednesday’s and Thursday's publication date (example: something to be included in the Dec. 11, 2014, print edition had to be received by noon Dec. 4, 2014).

Items for the Faith calendar need to be received by noon Monday to be included in that Saturday’s printed calendar.

This is a free service to the public. The print calendars run as space is available. Items may not appear in the print calendar if there is not enough space to run everything. Items entered into the online events database remain once they've been entered.
